Ukraine hit five Russian oil refineries in a week with a combined capacity of about 62 million tonnes a year
Ukrainian drones struck five Russian oil refineries in the first week of November 2026. Demilitarizator calculates that the plants have a combined crude processing capacity of about 62 million tonnes a year.
Which Russian oil refineries were hit on 1–7 November
Lukoil’s Kstovo refinery was the first to come under attack, on 1 November. Drones struck Slavneft’s YANOS refinery in Yaroslavl on 3 November, Ryazan on 5 November and Afipsky on 6 November. Saratov was hit overnight into 7 November. Fires were recorded at all five plants after the strikes. Timeline of the first week of November
The estimate adds up the five plants’ nominal primary processing capacities. Kstovo accounts for 17 million tonnes a year, Yaroslavl for 15 million, Ryazan for about 17 million, Afipsky for 6.25 million and Saratov for 7 million. The Afipsky figure covers the refinery in the town of Afipsky alone. Kstovo capacity · Yaroslavl capacity · Ryazan capacity · Afipsky capacity · Saratov capacity
What is known about damage at the refineries
Preliminary analysis placed the fire at Kstovo near the AVT-5 and AVT-6 crude distillation units. In Ryazan, the monitoring channel Exilenova+ reported damage to four primary processing units, AVT-1, AVT-3, AVT-4 and AT-6, and three secondary processing units, including a vacuum gas oil hydrotreater.
The Ukrainian outlet LB.ua reported a fire in the Afipsky refinery’s tank farm. Fires were also recorded on the grounds of the Yaroslavl and Saratov refineries. Which equipment was damaged at those two plants remains unclear. Afipsky refinery · Yaroslavl refinery · Saratov refinery
